Seat 2E is a good first class seat with ample elbow space, leg room, and recline, although a bit old and without much contour or posture support as one finds it with modern higher-grade airplane seats. Not so with UA deploying this plane. Without the latest app, no movie. And they charge extra for wireless access needed to stream videos. Not a bad first class seat. The wall behind the seat does not interfere with recline, but the seat cushion slides forward when reclining.

Horrible seat. Not wide enough for anybody and no leg room at all. Could not even bend down and get my bag from under the seat in front. Forget trying to cross your legs! Had to lower the seat arms to scoot across to get out. Very uncomfortable. Kind of shocked at how much space I had - I could cross my legs I'm 6'2.

I for one like the new Recaro seating and the padding on the bottom is still better than an exit row. Had an empty middle next to me so it helped but three across with family would be a no brainer as far as transcon or Hawaii if only they flew that far. My tail was NUA, a year out of retrofit, and still was the absolute cleanest plane I've ever been on. Worse plane in the United fleet. It was old, loud, and just down right awful. As my first and last time on a United Airbus i have now determined I will always fly Boeing.

If you want to walk off a flight with good knees and ears avoid the Airbus. This area has been updated by United and the coat racks are now behind row 2. This allows for a decent amount of additional legroom in this row. The lack of underseat storage was more bothersome to me personally. Seat is pretty comfortable but in no way is it lie flat. If you're tall your feet will bump the bulkhead but for me 5ft10 it was fine.

Nice in flight service made up for the seat's slight shortcomings and I was first off the plane, which was nice. How you enjoy this seat will depend on your expectations! The regular Economy in this plane features some of the smallest seats I've ever seen on any plane. Luckily, I'm in an empty row but can't imagine how tight this would be on a full flight.

On the outbound, I paid for Economy Plus, but there was a chubby guy next to me and it was tight. Also, my elbow hurts from how it hits against the window wall when I'm typing.

Worst experience ever! I am 5' 10" and average build and I felt extremely cramped. The seats on this plane are so uncomfortable I think i would have preferred to sit on a park bench. My lower back began to hurt mid flight. I am 25 years old and I have never had back pain. The poor old lady sitting next to me was basically suffering the whole flight. To make matter worse there was no in flight entertainment system and United charges exorbitantly for wifi by the hour not that I had space to use my ipad or macbook anyway.

And the flight had no hot food to offer despite their food menu and only had pretzels and a snack box. I was given a measly cup of ginger ale not the whole can. Like wow! United is inhumane Why on earth would anyone would choose to fly with them?

The seat was comfortable and reclined more than I thought it would. The crew were pleasant and i could actually eat the food. The window seat protrudes a bit into the shoulder and arm area. It was a bit annoying. Den to Phx flight, really liked new seats on the A Not an Airbus fan, but this flight was quiet and seat very comfortable. There was power available, but there was NO cutout for additional foot space. Could not extend my legs all the way and I'm only 5'7". Somewhat limited storage overhead as well as the bulkhead no storage under seat in front.

There is good floorboard space for row 7, despite it being first row of economy plus. The new standard I will say the. Bottom seat cusion seem a bit plusher than Alaska's Recaro seats, but basically no recline.

The pitch is very small and no entertainment on a 4. The seat itself is padded well and comfortable, but getting out for the bathroom is a chore. Felt very comfortable on my 2 hour flight and could have twice that long and been fine.

I am just under 6". One and a half windows. Love having the power plug in back of the seat ahead rather than under one's seat - much easier to access. The United A is a comfortable aircraft for domestic routes. Although some people complained about the seats, they are relatively comfortable and feel wide enough.

I enjoyed that we had power outlets, although the personal device entertainment did not work very well. No padding to speak of and seat bottom angles forward sliding you you out of seat. Quite unpleasant!

I'm 5'8" and usually don't have a problem even in standard coach. I couldn't even open my laptop without they keyboard in my belly and straining my neck to see the screen because the person in front of me had their seat back So Did I. The problem with AA is they are trying to make more money and expecting customers to live with their actions.

I'm a Diamond on Delta, was thinking about doing a challenge on AA but after this flight home from Barbados and the flight from home to Barbados on American Airlines I can honestly say I'll never fly American Airlines again, and If they are the only carrier to get where I need to go I'll be cancelling my trip.

This was the most cramped seat I have ever been in by far. A total joke Packed in like sardines, forget picking anything up off the ground, forget putting anything other than a phone in the pouch on the back of the seat in front of you. Try to put an IPAD in that pouch? Forget it! I repeat, this is by far thee worst seating I have ever encountered. This is the worst seat i have ever had. American Airlines, looks like i will switch back to SWA. Extremely short leg space.

Only one bag storage bin. I fly on this plane from Miami to Manaus, Brazil frequently. There is really no comfort on this plane, anywhere! If you can avoid it. I put my roll-on case in front of me, so my feet and legs have a nice place to rest and they are not just hanging there for 5 hours. I found the foot space was very adequate, and I am a large person.

The seat was wide enough for me and I was pretty comfortable. I had to bring my own seatbelt extender as AA didn't have one. I don't know how to tell which one you'll get prior to departure other than the AA-bought planes have swept-up winglets and the US ones have small bladed ones that extend above and below the wings.

But you do get massive leg room and two windows. This was a flight from las vegas to philadelphia. The seat is listed as an exit row seat. Its actually just a normal isle seat but it feels better because the window seat has no seat in front of it.

It just opens up the row a bit. The plane is that new version with a bathroom by the exit row. No tv. This first class seat is just fine. I would much rather bring my own device than stare at a tiny airline screen. BTW, my iPad case hangs perfectly in the upper magazine slot, yet, i can move it anywhere i desire. There IS a power outlet - in the center console storage. An efficient layout. I was pleasantly surprised by the comfort of this seat.

It was a little wider than a comparable seat on a , enough wider that it made a real difference in my comfort. I also had plenty of legroom. I will be seeking out this aircraft for future flights. The windows were offset.

I had to either lean forward or look back to see out a window. The small 1st class seems to have enough overhead space, even if full, as you board first, extra bags can go above the first rows of coach and someone will hand them to you. Leg room just OK but I can nap just fine in this seat.

When AA introduced the A a few years ago I thought it was horrible and said so on this site. They have been reconfigured with the same comfortable seats found in the latest As and are lights years better. I am , and even at 31" inch pitch they are satisfactory. I sprung for MCE on this flight and it was the most comfortable coach ride I have had in years. There is ample foot room and the seat back is high enough that it does not hit me in the middle of my neck like the MD80s when trying to recline.

Seat engineers did a good job on these, thanks, AA. I found this seat to have restricted legroom compared to row 2 because, it's a bulkhead seat, but it reclined unlike row 2 seats. Overhead storage bin was usable for this row. No IFE, no power outlets. The first class seat is very thin, not comfortable with very little recline.

I can only image how bad economy must be. This is an updated aircraft which has a IFE in every seatback - welcome surprise. Even in premium economy leg space is somewhat limited, if you have a bag under the seat, due to power unit for the IFE.

No bag and you can stretch reasonably well, I'm 5'10 Seat is comfy and decent for a 3hr flight. The left arm rest for 14A is actually on the emergency exit and slightly higher and more forward than the arm rest on the right. This is less than ideal and should be included in the comments for both 14A and 14 F.

I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of leg room in my seat. Even with my packed to the gills back pack under the seat in front of me I had plenty of room for my legs. Loved that there was an outlet built into the seats in front of me.

Flight crew was kind and courteous. This seat seemed pretty tight for a 30" pitch. On my flight MIA-YYZ , although the tray tables in the emergency exit row row 14 were indeed on the seat back as a previous commenter wrote, there was ALSO for some reason another set of tray tables in the arm rests, making them immovable.

The overhead bin was empty and accessible. The emergency equipment was in a side compartment over the coat closet. Decent seat. Updated interior with leather seats, plane was clean and service good. There appears to be a partition between each window on this aircraft so you kinda have two windows per row but they don't exactly align. All in all, good flights. My flight had no screens at all in any class. One had to stream movies, etc on phone, tablet or laptop. Weird if one wasn't prepared with headphones. Great seat; plenty of leg room and leather seat. A metal box, about 2 inches thick, is attached to the bottom frame of the seat in front of this one.

It cuts down on leg room and under seat storage. The seats appear to have been recently reconfigured to give less leg room, smaller pitch and a very cramped economy cabin. The armrests are hard plastic.

All upholstery has been removed. With the new upgrade, the tray tables in the exit row are in the seat back in front of you and the arm rests are movable. Great seat. I'm 5'9 and 34" of pitch is fantastic. Very comfy overall.

Crew was nice, nothing special. Avoid row Pitch very small. Really bad seat of you are tall. The space on front of the seat is reduced due to what im assuming is part of the wiring of the entretainment system.

Additionally the seat is small and the window is slightly forward. The legroom in the bulkhead is more limited in the newly retrofitted planes.

Or are they new? The wall at the bulkhead is straight from ceiling to floor--formerly it angled out slightly allowing more leg room. I love the bulkhead but this newly limited legroom may change my future seat selection.

Utility box consumes foot room. Utility box consumes foot space. Great leg room. Almost no recline. There were also only 2 power outlets. It had gogo-inflight though. Still highly uncomfortable and very limited pitch for a coast to coast flight. Seat pitch is miserable, and IFE box under the seat further reduces leg room.

Seat itself was reasonably comfortable for a short hop. IFE is nice, but personally I'd prefer to lose it altogether in exchange for another couple inches of seat pitch so my knees wouldn't have to be in contact with the seat in front of me. If you are over six feet tall, I recommend avoiding this aircraft unless you are in first, MCE, or emergency exit row. Standard domestic first class seat. Fresh leather seat surfaces. New V outlets at all seats. Next door seat mate told me of a recent fire back in economy related to one of these outlets.

Exceptional food!. Restaurant quality!! Attentive and extremely friendly flight crew. Will take this flight again. The 'A and E' seats will not permit the Ciao brand underseat rolling bag to be stored underneath the seat in front due to a built in obstruction on the right rear leg.

I flew on this plane just last month and AA recommended 14D. It was an averave flight, we were delayed an hour due to bad weather. It was a good thing they recommended this seat cause it was very roomy, especially cause I usually book legroom upgrades when I fly. I'm guessing probably a full 6" more pitch since MCE seats in exit rows always have about 6" more seat pitch. Contrary to this seat map, the tray table in this row is not in the armrest but in the seat in front of you, which does not impede the seat width.

The flight itself was kinda bumpy, but still enjoyable from the extra legroom. You should note that personal on demand ife is not available on all A's with 8F seats. I've been on legacy AA A's and they offer personal ife screens at every seat. The redone legacy US-Air A with 8 first class seats that I was on had the same seat layout, power, wifi etc as the original AA planes but they don't offer personal ife screens in coach or first.

I was in a bulkhead row, labeled Main Cabin Extra. Overall, a seat and plane to be avoided. My seat was thinly padded and uncomfortable with the first class curtain slapping against my legs throughout the flight.

I also observed others sitting extremely uncomfortably in coach with their 30" pitch. Unless you can get rows 9 or 10 in coach, just avoid the plane. Took this flight late August Plane is new and seats thinly padded, with mininal legroom. These seats are the most cramped and uncomfortable of any flight I've taken in many years. If you must fly on this plane, spend the money for plus seating. Otherwise, try another plane or airline.

Main cabin extra has noticeably more leg room than economy which starts in row New leather seats matching the American scheme, but no television in the seat backs. The seats were the same slimline they are now using without the screens.

MCE is the only way I would get on one of these new Airbus, the other seats are ridiculously tight. This flight was a pleasant surprise. Beautiful new leather seats, each equipped with TVs like you'd see on a A or a long-haul Seat had ample legroom. Nice to see American stepping it up, however they need to accelerate their fleet refresh.

I loved my seat. My seat was 11A. I believe this aircraft is really comfortable, It was a 2 hour flight, the legroom was ok, and the IFE did not bother me at all. Great entertainment options. I love American's newest product, congrats on the new products American! You do lose storage space under the seats due to the IFE boxes, which is true in more of the new planes now days. Be aware of limited storage width due to the electrical box.

I have flown on this aircraft four times with AA. Twice is First Class and twice in Coach. My general comment is to avoid this aircraft it you have any other options.

They are very uncomfortable and there is not a lot of leg room. The coach seats are are even worse. They are hard with little leg room. I am 6'1" I could hardly walk after flying on this aircraft. I would only recommend flying on this aircraft if the flight time is only an hour to an hour and a half.

Despite this plane being nearly 15 years old, the interior and seat were in great condition. The window lenses were a bit scratched up, but it didn't affect the ability to see clearly.

This is a Main Cabin Extra seat, and therefore has significantly more leg room that the standard economy class seat. I have uploaded pictures to show the leg room. I am only 5'6", so leg room typically is not an issue, but I was able to upgrade to MCE for free, so I thought I would try it out.

The pitch on these seats. Is miserable. You cannot really open the tray table and the video monitor is about 10 inches away from your face. If there was ever a "mainline" plane to avoid, it is this configuration of American's A I don't believe I have ever flown a jet this uncomfortable. I am 6'1 and and while the width is OK, the pitch of this seat and the lack of recline are killing me as I am on the plane presently.

I always thought all coach seats were identical so I guess I learned my lesson. It goes without saying that this is going to be my last trip on this type of equipment. What terrible news this is the "flagship" or American if indeed it is.

Coach seats are awful. Recline is the least I've ever experienced, except for Spirit, which has no recline. The seats recline about 1 inch. The backs are thin and hard and shaped wrong And there's no IFE! Only positive comment is Exit Row seats have great legroom.

But that doesn't make the seat comfortable. Don't, repeat don't book on this plane if you can avoid it Absolutely the worst aircraft to fly for comfort in economy. I actually thought I was in Main Cabin Extra.

My error. Nice leather seats with no leg room. From front edge of seat to back of the seat in front of me was less than 12 inches, I measured I am 5'5 and I really felt bad for the men in my row.

Only 8 first class seats if you try to upgrade. I shall not fly the Airbus again if I can help it. Seat is full-width but is missing right-side armrest, which is uncomfortable. All negative comments are correct. I had 4 segments on this "new" airbus , 1 in "first" and 3 in coach.

First is comparable to premium economy in better INT carriers like Cathay, but legroom is fair. I am 6'1 lbs and I sat Aisle, middle and window and all were terrible - window being the worst, most narrow and the electical box in front. Even on a 1. This is 3 steps backward for passenger comfort, whoever green-lit this design should lose their employment at AA. I was one of the few who actually liked USAir; now I really miss it. Not the regular equipment for this segment.

No entertainment system - space where the screen goes is extra storage. AC power between each seat. Plenty of leg room in MCE.
