The first and most important step will be the providing of the advertising brief by the client to us. The advertising brief, which contains the marketing background, target audience and consumer insight of a certain product, will set the direction of the TVC. Without it, the objective of the TVC will be vague and targeting will be less effective. Based on the advertising brief given, we will then be able to present an innovative idea and storyline to you, the client.
This idea presentation will incorporate many scenarios that are to be chosen after an extensive research has been done. After a successful storyboard presentation comes the production process.
In this process, another discussion will be held in order to determine aspects such as production schedule, property and wardrobe recommendations if any , as well as shooting locations. Later on, the client would also have to agree on the talent for the TVC, music clip to be used, etc. Despite the detailed preparation leading to the production, shooting usually only takes one day.
The longest part of a TVC production is the post-production process, which involves offline editing in which, our editor will choose the best frames in the recorded footage to build up a draft TVC. Obviously, since you are competitors, it is not okay to just sit back and watch them take over your market. If your competitors are running their TV commercials widely now, you should, too.
You would often see Ad Wars between companies on TV, but remember to follow ethics and rules while using such a strategy. Create competitive ads for the sake of creativity, not for being offensive or to create an attacking approach. Running a business is very difficult at times when there is so much competition, and if your sales or growth rate is declining, it is time to re-launch your products with a new look or any new feature, along with a fully active promotional strategy.
In this scenario, you need to reinforce your brand to your market in order to make customers return, as well as to attract new customers. This also acts as a reminder for people that this brand exists, and explains to them how the brand is there to meet their needs or desires.
Eyeballs, in marketing terms, refers to views. The more views your promotional element gets, the more likely your market is to convert to your customers.
Obviously, since television is so commonly watched everywhere, and is usually watched by people in groups, it has great potential to maximize your reach. This is why TVCs get the most eyeballs. Even if the people who are watching your ad are not always the relevant customers, your brand becomes recognizable by all these people, and hence, is likely to get your sales higher.
A TV commercial is immensely costly. Netflix offers zero commercials for a monthly fee, depending on the package. Amazon Prime Video is another streaming service designed for customers who have an Amazon Prime account. Hulu is the third major on-demand streaming service, which is owned by Disney, offering TV shows, movies, on-demand, and live TV. However, some of the networks are part of multimedia giants, which also offer streaming services. For example, Disney owns the ABC network, meaning it earns revenue from its streaming services with Hulu, Disney's movie business, and ad revenue from ABC's primetime network.
As a result of the consolidation within the media industry, it's not always clear how the migration of ad revenue from primetime networks hurts the networks if both are owned by the same media conglomerate. While event shows like the Super Bowl remain lucrative, companies are battling DVRs, on-demand, and streaming services.
